We have seen lots of press renders of LG’s new flagship, the LG G7 ThinQ, and now we have some actual photos of the handset.
The handset will be made official at a press event which takes place tomorrow. We already know many of the specifications of the device, but let’s delve deeper into what makes this smartphone stand out.
Display and Design
The new LG G7 will come with a 6.1 inch Super Bright LCD display that will have a QHD+ resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels. This high resolution ensures that users will experience sharp and vibrant visuals, making it ideal for media consumption and gaming. The display will have an aspect ratio of 19:5.9, which is slightly taller than the traditional 18:9 aspect ratio, providing more screen real estate for multitasking and immersive viewing experiences.
The design of the LG G7 ThinQ is sleek and modern, featuring a nearly bezel-less display with a small notch at the top. This notch houses the front camera and other sensors, allowing for a larger screen-to-body ratio. The back of the handset is made of glass, giving it a premium look and feel, and it is expected to come in various colors to suit different tastes.
Performance and Storage
Under the hood, the LG G7 ThinQ will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, which is one of the most powerful processors available in the market. This ensures that the device will handle demanding applications and multitasking with ease. The handset will feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which should be sufficient for most users. However, there may also be another model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for those who need more memory and storage space.
The device will also support expandable storage via a microSD card slot, allowing users to add additional storage if needed. This is a great feature for those who store a lot of media files, such as photos, videos, and music, on their devices.
Camera and Software
The LG G7 ThinQ will come with a dual-camera setup on the rear, featuring two 16-megapixel sensors. This setup is expected to offer excellent photo quality, with features such as optical image stabilization, phase detection autofocus, and an LED flash. The dual-camera system will also enable advanced photography features such as portrait mode, which blurs the background to make the subject stand out, and wide-angle shots for capturing more of the scene.
On the software side, the handset will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. This version of Android brings several improvements and new features, such as enhanced notifications, picture-in-picture mode, and better battery management. LG is also expected to include its own customizations and features, such as AI enhancements for the camera and voice assistant.
Additional Features
One of the standout features of the LG G7 ThinQ is its Boombox Speaker, which is designed to deliver louder and richer sound compared to traditional smartphone speakers. This is achieved by using the internal space of the phone as a resonance chamber, amplifying the sound and providing a better audio experience for music and videos.
The handset is also expected to come with a range of connectivity options, including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC. It will also feature a fingerprint sensor on the back for added security and convenience.
We will have full details about LG’s new flagship Android smartphone when it is made official at the company’s press event tomorrow. Stay tuned for more updates and in-depth coverage of the LG G7 ThinQ.
