It looks like LG will be announcing their new flagship smartphone at Mobile World Congress next month, the LG G6.
The company has just released a teaser video for their next flagship, and while it does not feature the device itself, it does reveal that it is coming at MWC 2017.
Display and Design
We know that the new LG G6 will come with LG’s new wide QHD display, which measures 5.7 inches and has an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. This new aspect ratio is designed to offer a more immersive viewing experience, making it ideal for watching videos and playing games. The display is also expected to support HDR10, which will provide better color accuracy and contrast.
The design of the LG G6 is rumored to be a significant departure from its predecessor, the LG G5. Unlike the modular design of the G5, the G6 is expected to feature a more traditional unibody design, which will likely be made of metal and glass. This change in design philosophy is aimed at providing a more premium feel and better durability.
Performance and Features
While specific details about the internal hardware of the LG G6 are still under wraps, it is expected to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, likely the Snapdragon 835. This would ensure that the device offers top-notch performance, capable of handling the most demanding apps and games with ease. Additionally, the G6 is expected to come with at least 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, with the possibility of expandable storage via a microSD card slot.
In terms of software, the LG G6 will run on the latest version of Android, likely Android 7.0 Nougat, with LG’s custom skin on top. This will bring a host of new features and improvements, including better multitasking capabilities, enhanced notifications, and improved battery life.
The camera setup on the LG G6 is also expected to see significant improvements. Rumors suggest that the device will feature a dual-camera system on the back, similar to the one found on the LG V20. This would allow for better low-light performance, improved depth-of-field effects, and more versatile shooting options. The front-facing camera is also expected to receive an upgrade, making it ideal for selfies and video calls.
Other notable features of the LG G6 may include water and dust resistance, wireless charging, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. These features would make the G6 a well-rounded flagship device, capable of competing with the best smartphones on the market.
So far, those are the only details we know about LG’s new flagship Android smartphone. However, as the launch date approaches, we can expect more leaks and official announcements to provide a clearer picture of what the LG G6 will offer. We will have more details when it is made official next month.
