One of the new smartphones we are looking forward to at next month’s Mobile World Congress is the new LG G6 smartphone.
We have been hearing a number of rumors about the new LG G6, and now a photo of a prototype of the handset has been leaked.
The LG G6 will come with a 5.7-inch display that has an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels. It will also feature 564 pixels per inch, which promises to deliver a sharp and vibrant visual experience. This aspect ratio is particularly interesting as it deviates from the more traditional 16:9 ratio, offering a taller screen that is ideal for multitasking and immersive media consumption.

Performance and Hardware
The handset is rumored to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, which, while not the latest chipset available, is still a very capable and powerful processor. The Snapdragon 821 is known for its efficiency and performance, ensuring that the LG G6 will handle most tasks with ease. It will apparently come with 4GB of RAM, which should be sufficient for smooth multitasking and running demanding applications.
In terms of storage, while the exact details are not yet confirmed, it is expected that the LG G6 will offer multiple storage options, possibly starting from 32GB and going up to 128GB. Additionally, it is likely that the device will support expandable storage via a microSD card slot, allowing users to increase their storage capacity as needed.
Software and Features
The LG G6 will come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Android Nougat brings a host of new features and improvements over previous versions, including enhanced notifications, split-screen multitasking, and improved battery life through the Doze mode. LG is also expected to include its own custom UI on top of Android, which will offer additional features and customization options.
One of the notable features of the LG G6 is its USB Type-C port. This modern port allows for faster data transfer speeds and quicker charging times compared to the older micro-USB standard. It also supports reversible plug orientation, making it more convenient to use.
Another significant aspect of the LG G6 is its battery. While earlier LG models featured removable batteries, the G6 is rumored to come with a non-removable battery. This change might be a trade-off for a more streamlined design and improved water and dust resistance, which are becoming increasingly important features for modern smartphones.
The camera setup on the LG G6 is also expected to be impressive. While specific details are still under wraps, it is rumored that the device will feature a dual-camera system, similar to its predecessor, the LG G5. This setup could offer enhanced photo capabilities, such as wide-angle shots and improved low-light performance.
We will have more details about the handset when it is made official next month. The Mobile World Congress is set to be an exciting event, with many new devices and technologies being unveiled. The LG G6 is shaping up to be a strong contender in the smartphone market, and we look forward to seeing how it performs in real-world usage.
