Okay, it’s not atomic. But you can call it that anyway to impress people. (“Hey guys, check out my atomic bike lock!”) Seen below is the sheer power and might of a DIY bike lock, which is an essential tool for any cyclist in an urban area. The sad truth is bikes get stolen with alarming frequency, so unless you’re George Jetson and can shrink your ride to fit in an attache case you might want to invest in a bike lock. But what’s that? Can’t afford one? No problem–make your own bike lock!
The good news is when it’s built, you can call it “atomic” even if there’s nothing particularly atomic about it.
It wouldn’t take an Oppenheimer, Newton, or Einstein to determine that to build your own bike lock, a chain, padlock, and some cloth is necessary. So go ahead, acquire all three (by completing quests) and proceed too assemble the infernal device.
A little handyman talent and sewing skills come into play when assembling the awesome bike lock, (common sense too) but for a comprehensive breakdown of the highly technical process (this is meant sarcastically, of course) go check out this Instructables page.
When the bike lock is finished, you have the right to bestow upon it a worthy name (uh, atomic?) and to use it as a weapon on nights you masquerade as a neighborhood superhero. Most excellent.
