Kia has gone official with the Stinger GT and the production car is every bit as sexy as the concept it is based on. The Kia GT will have two available engines, the base will be a 2.0L Turbo four making 255hp ad 260 lb-ft of torque. The options and more desirable engine is a twin-turbo 3.3L V6 making 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. That V6 can push the car to 62 mph in 5.1 seconds.
That could well mean a sub-5 second 0-60mph time. No matter what engine you choose, the car has rear-wheel drive and comes with an 8-speed paddle shift automatic trans. That twin-turbo V6 version also gets Brembo brakes. Driver assistance systems include the Driver Attention Alert system. Advanced smart cruise control can maintain spacing between the car in front and bring the car to a stop in traffic.
Other features include lane keep assist and rear cross traffic alert. Kia also fits the car with a color HUD that shows navigation, audio, speed, and cruise control info on the windshield. The two key facts we are missing about the Stinger GT at this time are pricing and availability information.
