iZettle has this week announced that their mobile payment service will shortly be launching in the UK, enabling small businesses to accept credit card payments using their mobile devices.
iZettle has partnered with Everything Everywhere, the new company created by Orange, T-Mobile, and EE in the UK, to enable customers to easily sign-up for the new service.
The new iZettle payment dongles will be available to purchase for £20 each from Everything Everywhere stores within the UK. Jacob de Geer, CEO and co-founder of iZettle, explains:
“The beauty of iZettle is that it’s simple to use, totally secure and takes seconds for a transaction,”-“Whether you are a cabbie, florist, tradesperson or a courier, iZettle gives you the flexibility to operate in both cash and cards. The possibilities are endless because hundreds of thousands of small businesses can now take plastic. We are very excited about our full commercial launch in the UK and the positive results of our Beta test with 4,000 users over the past six months.”
Expanding Payment Options for Small Businesses
iZettle enables small businesses to accept payments from Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners Club. This broad range of accepted cards ensures that businesses can cater to a wide variety of customers. The service is available for both iOS and Android devices, making it accessible to a large number of users. The transaction fees are charged at 2.75 percent of each transaction, which is competitive compared to other mobile payment solutions.
The introduction of iZettle in the UK is a significant step forward for small businesses that have traditionally relied on cash transactions. By accepting card payments, these businesses can increase their customer base and improve their cash flow. For example, a local market vendor can now accept card payments from tourists who may not have local currency, thereby increasing sales opportunities.
Security and Ease of Use
One of the standout features of iZettle is its focus on security. The payment dongle uses advanced encryption to ensure that all transactions are secure. This is crucial for both businesses and customers, as it builds trust and reduces the risk of fraud. Additionally, the setup process is straightforward, allowing businesses to start accepting card payments within minutes of receiving their dongle.
The user interface of the iZettle app is designed to be intuitive, making it easy for anyone to use, regardless of their technical expertise. This is particularly beneficial for small business owners who may not have the time or resources to invest in complex payment systems. The app also provides detailed transaction reports, helping businesses keep track of their sales and manage their finances more effectively.
Moreover, iZettle offers additional features such as invoicing and inventory management, which can further streamline business operations. These features make iZettle not just a payment solution, but a comprehensive tool for managing various aspects of a small business.
The launch of iZettle in the UK represents a significant advancement for small businesses, providing them with a secure, easy-to-use, and versatile payment solution. With the backing of Everything Everywhere and the positive feedback from the Beta test, iZettle is poised to make a substantial impact on the UK market.
