Last week we heard that the new iPhone X is an expensive device to repair if you take it to Apple. A new screen costs $279 and if anything else needs fixed, it costs even more. If you manage to break the glass back on the handset this will cost you $549.
Apple charges $549 for any repairs to the handset that are note replacing the display. We have already seen a teardown of the new iPhone and now we have a new video from JerryRigEverything. The latest video shows you how to replace the display on the new iPhone.
When iFixit took the new iPhone X apart last week they gave the handset a score of 6 out to 10 on their repair index, this means the handset is moderately difficult to repair. As we can see in the video there is a bit of work involved in replacing the display for the handset.
We suspect that third part repairs for Apple’s new iPhone could end up being popular as Apple is charging so much to repair damaged parts on the handset. The fact that anything other than a display repair on the device costing $549 means people may look elsewhere to get their device repaired.
