Another photo has appeared of the iPhone prototype or iPhone 4G on the Vietnamese website Taoviet, and this one seems to be running the iPhone OS 4.0, although the photos just show the iPhone homescreen.
The previous photos we saw were running the strange ‘Inferno’ homescreen, so we are not sure if this is another iPhone prototype or if the guys from the Taoviet website have managed to get the iPhone OS running on it.
There certainly are a lot of photos on the Internet of the iPhone 4G, and it does make us wonder how Apple has let this happen, considering the fuss they made over the Gizmodo iPhone that turned up.
Speculations and Leaks
The appearance of these photos has sparked a wave of speculation among tech enthusiasts and industry analysts. The iPhone 4G, which was highly anticipated at the time, had already generated significant buzz due to its rumored features and design changes. The fact that multiple prototypes were surfacing online added to the intrigue and excitement.
One theory is that Apple might have intentionally leaked these prototypes to generate hype and keep the public’s interest piqued. Another possibility is that these leaks were genuine security lapses, which would be surprising given Apple’s typically tight control over its product releases. The Gizmodo incident, where a prototype was found in a bar, had already shown that even Apple could have vulnerabilities in its security protocols.
Technical Insights
The iPhone OS 4.0, which was seen running on the prototype, introduced several new features that were eagerly awaited by users. Multitasking, a unified inbox, and enhanced app organization were some of the key highlights of this OS update. Seeing these features in action on a prototype added credibility to the leaks and gave users a glimpse of what to expect from the final product.
The ‘Inferno’ homescreen seen in previous leaks was a point of confusion. It led to various theories, including the possibility that it was a developer mode or a special diagnostic tool used internally by Apple. The shift to a more familiar iPhone homescreen in the latest photos suggested that the device was closer to its final production version.
As soon as we get some more information on what OS this is running we will let you guys know.
Update: It turns out the photo above may be a Photoshop, you can find out more details over at Gadget Venue.
