Apple will announce this years iPhone, the iPhone 5 some time over the next couple of months, we are expecting to hear something around June time, and already we have heard a number of rumors about the new iPhone 5.

The latest rumor is that the iPhone 5 will share the same design as the existing iPhone 4, the news comes for French Mac website, MacBidouille who has a photo of what is reported to be a case for the next generation iPhone.

iPhone 4

Whether or not this case is actually correct for the new iPhone 5 remains to be seen, but we suspect that the iPhone 5’s design will be very similar to the design of the iPhone 4.

When Apple in introduced the iPhone 2G back in 2007, it featured a back which was made from a combination of aluminum and plastic, then came the iPhone 3G in 2008, which saw a slimmer design than the original iPhone, and an all plastic back.

When Apple announced the iPhone 3GS in 2009, it featured exactly the same design as the previous iPhone 3G, and we only saw a completely new design with the launch of the iPhone 4 in 2010.

The iPhone 4’s design is the best to date, and we suspect that when Apple launches the iPhone 5 they will follow a similar pattern as they did with the launch of the iPhone 3g and 3GS, the iPhone 5 design will be very similar to the iPhone 4 and we suspect we will have to wait until 2012 with the launch of the iPhone 6 to see a completely new design.

Have a look at our article on the difference between the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, and also make sure you check out our iPhone 4S review.
