Apple’s iPad Mini launches tomorrow, the 2nd of November, but it would appear that some people have already started to receive their iPad Mini pre-orders a little earlier than expected.
The following photos were posted to French website Igen.fr, which were sent in by one of their readers who received his iPad Mini and decided to take some unboxing photos.
The iPad Mini comes with a 7.9-inch multi-touch display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, and a dual-core Apple A5x processor.
Enhanced Camera Features
The iPad Mini also comes with a front-facing 1.2-megapixel FaceTime HD camera for video chat and a rear-facing 5-megapixel iSight camera for photos and video that can record full HD video in 1080p. The iSight camera is equipped with advanced optics, including a five-element lens, hybrid IR filter, and backside illumination, which ensures that your photos and videos are sharp and clear even in low-light conditions. The FaceTime HD camera, on the other hand, is perfect for video calls, allowing you to connect with friends and family in high definition.
Portability and Design
One of the standout features of the iPad Mini is its portability. Weighing in at just 0.68 pounds (308 grams) and measuring 7.87 inches in height, 5.3 inches in width, and 0.28 inches in depth, the iPad Mini is incredibly lightweight and easy to carry around. Its sleek and compact design makes it an ideal device for on-the-go use, whether you’re traveling, commuting, or simply moving from room to room in your home.
The iPad Mini’s design is not just about aesthetics; it’s also about functionality. The device features a durable aluminum unibody construction that feels solid and premium in hand. The thin bezels around the display maximize the screen real estate, giving you more space to interact with your apps and content.
Performance and Battery Life
Under the hood, the iPad Mini is powered by the dual-core Apple A5x processor, which ensures smooth performance for everyday tasks such as web browsing, email, and multimedia consumption. While it may not be the latest processor in Apple’s lineup, the A5x is more than capable of handling the demands of most users.
Battery life is another area where the iPad Mini excels. Apple claims that the device offers up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge, which is impressive for a tablet of its size. This means you can use the iPad Mini throughout the day without worrying about running out of power.
Connectivity and Storage Options
The iPad Mini comes with a range of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi and optional cellular models. The Wi-Fi model supports dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi, which provides fast and reliable internet connectivity. The cellular model, on the other hand, supports LTE networks, allowing you to stay connected even when you’re away from Wi-Fi hotspots.
In terms of storage, the iPad Mini is available in multiple configurations, including 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB options. This gives you the flexibility to choose the storage capacity that best suits your needs, whether you plan to use the device for basic tasks or for storing a large library of apps, photos, and videos.
