Apple released iOS 8.4 just over a week ago and it would appear that adoption of Apple’s latest mobile OS is now over 40%.
According to Mixpanel, at the time of writing, iOS adoption is now on 41.26 percent of Apple’s iOS devices, this can be see in the graph below.
Apple’s iOS 8.4 comes with Apple Music and this could be one of the reasons why the adoption of the latest version of Apple’s mobile OS is so high after just over a week.
Apple Music comes with a three month free trial, so we suspect a good portion of that 40 percent of people who have installed iOS 8.4 are also using Apple Music, whether these will turn into paid subscribers remains to be seen.
iOS 8.4 also brought a range of bug fixes to the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, there were some bugs that were fixed in the update that had been around for a while, this could also explain the high adoption rate.
It will be interesting to see what proportion of iOS users have updated to iOS 8.4 after a month, as soon as we get more details, we will let you guys know.
