When Apple released iOS 6, there was one thing that stopped some users of iOS updating to the latest version, the lack of Google Maps, which was replaced with Apple Maps in iOS 6.
Google recently released their own stand alone Google Maps application for iOS, and it would appear that this has prompted a number of users to update to iOS 6.
According to MoPub, they have see an increase of around 29 percent of iOS 6 users since the release of Google’s Maps for the iPhone, obviously people were holding off upgrading as they did not want to use Apple’s mapping application and lose their Google Maps version.
