iOS 12 Beta 1 vs iOS 11.4

The first beta of iOS 12 is here, Apple released the software yesterday and now we have some iOS 12 Beta 1 vs iOS 11.4 speed test videos.

The iOS 12 Beta 1 vs iOS 11.4 speed tests are run on the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, will there be any speed improvements in the first beta? First up is the iPhone 5S.

As we can see from the video the iPhone 5s boots up slightly faster with the new iOS 12 beta, there also appears to be some speed improvements in the various apps. Next is the iPhone 6.

With the iPhone 6 the handset running the new iOS 12 beta booted up a few seconds faster than the handset running iOS 11.4. There also appears to be minor speed improvements in some of the apps. Next is the iPhone 6S.

As we can see from the video, the iPhone 6S running the current iOS 11.4 booted up faster than the handset running the new iOS 12.1 beta. There do appear to be some speed improvements in the apps, next is the iPhone 7.

With the iPhone 7, the handset running the current iOS 11.4 software booted up faster than the device running the new iOS 12. The new iOS 12 does appear to be slightly faster in some of the apps. Finally we have the iPhone 8.

As we can see in the video with the iPhone 8, the handset running the iOS 11.4 software booted up slightly faster. There are some minor speed improvements in some of the apps.

It looks like the new iOS 12 will bring some speed improvements on the apps to all devices and some speed improvements whilst booting on the older devices. This is only the first beta that Apple has released, so we can expect to see more improvements by the time the final version of the software is available.
