iOS 11.2

We recently saw some tests of the new iOS 11.2 beta 3 in action and heard about the new features coming to the iPhone and iPad in the new mobile OS. Now some more details have been revealed of new features coming to the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in the update.

The iOS 11.2 software update will being faster wireless charging to the three handset when using Qi based wireless charging devices. At the moment Qi chargers charge the new iPhone X, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus at 5 watts, this will increase by 50 percent to 7.5 watts wen the software update is released.

This means that when the new iOS 11.2 update is released, the three handsets which support wireless charging will be able to charger using compatible accessories. There are apparently a number of Qi based chargers that Apple sells that will support the faster speed, these include the Belkin an Mophie ones.

We are expecting the new iOS 11.2 software update to be released some time this month, Apple just released the third beta of the software to developers and public beta testers. The software also brings some other new features to the iPhone and iPad, this includes the new Apple Pay Cash mobile payments. As soon as we get some more details on when the update is coming, we will let you guys know.
