A photo of a new version of Sony’s flagship Android smartphone has been posted on Twitter by @evleaks, the device is called the Sony Xperia Z1s, and will apparently be a new version of the Sony Xperia Z1 Mini.
The Sony Xperia Z1s is thought to be the international version of the recently announced Sony Xperia Z1f which was launched in Japan recently with mobile carrier NTT DoCoMo.
If the above device is the Xperia Z1 Mini, then it will share similar specifications to the model launched in Japan, which will include a 4.3 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
The Xperia Z1 Mini is powered by a quad core 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and also comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built in storage.
The device comes with the same IP57 standard protection for dust and water as the original Xperia Z1, it also features the handsets camera.
The rear camera on the Xperia Z1 Mini is a 20.7 megapixel Sony Exmor RS sensor, up front there will be a 2 megapixel Sony Exmor R camera.
As yet we do not have any official word from Sony on when they will launch the international version of the Sony Xperia Z1 Mini, although we suspect it may be before the end of the year.
