There are several issues caused by the way a video camera CMOS collects it data that can add extra distortion to your home movie. The CMOS in a home camcorder acquires the image by recording each frame in horizontal bands, from the top to the bottom of the frame. You might have noticed this is you ever have taken footage on zoom and seen a wobbly effect as the CMOS tries to capture the data as fast as possible.
