Hacken Design based in Los Angeles California, has developed a new portable 3D SoundStage called the iMMER which is being created to provide the best 3D sound whilst on the go.
The system is equipped with Dual Moving Dynamic Driver Earbud and has been launched on Kickstarter this week to raise the $50,000 the team requires to move to the next stage in the project. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about iMMER and its unique sound.
The development team behind iMMER explain a little more about its inspiration features and functionality
iMMER is a such a magical device which embedded with our 3D Sound XTC engine, 10m CSR Bluetooth chip lossless coverage – APTX, a powerful Audio Amplifier with safe lithium battery which can support up to 7 hours playing on a single charge. The best thing is, we bundled it with a high quality Patented Design earbuds that will not be sold separately to offer our customer an revolutionary audio experience with an extremely affordable price.
A state of art ear bud/earphone 3D Sound software is then programmed into the iMMER to magnify and decode the sound. The 3D Sound software not only removes sound crosstalk between ears, with only 2 speakers, it positions the sounds in different positions and heard in desirable pattern.
The software serves as a Crosstalk Canceller (XTC). Normally, sound from two speakers reaches both ears at the same time and creates crosstalk in our brain. This crosstalk cues the listener the position of the sound source is the speakers. XTC removes the crosstalk. With the XTC technology, the listener can hear the virtual cues of the sound sources where the artists intended. The software can achieve >20db Crosstalk Cancellation (XTC) with flat response and no dynamic range loss
