The other day Huawei announced their latest Android smartphone, The Huawei Honor, and now the guys over at Greek technology site Techblog have got their hands on the Honor.
The video below is in Greek, but it still gives us a good look at the new Huawei Honor as well as some of the smartphone’s features.
Specifications and Features
As a reminder, the Huawei Honor will come with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread and it features a single-core 1.4GHz processor, plus a 4-inch FWGA touchscreen display. The device is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera on the rear with auto-focus and HDR capabilities, plus a front-facing 2-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.
Other specifications on the Huawei Honor include 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP. It comes with 512MB of RAM and a microSD card slot with a 4GB card installed, which can be expanded to a 32GB card. Additional features include A-GPS for navigation, an FM radio for listening to your favorite stations, dual microphones for better call quality, a compass, gyroscope, G-sensor, and a 1900 mAh battery. The device also supports DLNA for streaming media to other DLNA-compatible devices.
Market Position and Pricing
The Huawei Honor is expected to go on sale sometime in December and will retail for around 300 Euros. This pricing positions the Honor as a mid-range smartphone, offering a balance between performance and affordability. Given its feature set, the Honor is likely to appeal to a wide range of consumers, from tech enthusiasts looking for a capable secondary device to budget-conscious buyers seeking a reliable primary smartphone.
Huawei has been making significant strides in the smartphone market, and the Honor is a testament to their commitment to delivering high-quality devices at competitive prices. The inclusion of features like an 8-megapixel HDR camera and a 1900 mAh battery shows that Huawei is not cutting corners, even in their mid-range offerings.
The smartphone market is highly competitive, with numerous brands vying for consumer attention. However, Huawei’s strategy of offering feature-rich devices at reasonable prices has helped them carve out a significant share of the market. The Honor is expected to continue this trend, providing consumers with a compelling option that doesn’t break the bank.
The Huawei Honor is shaping up to be a strong contender in the mid-range smartphone market. With its robust set of features, competitive pricing, and the backing of a reputable brand, the Honor is likely to attract a diverse group of buyers. Whether you’re looking for a reliable daily driver or a feature-packed secondary device, the Huawei Honor is worth considering.
