HTC relies on other companies for the processors it uses in its smartphones, but according to a recent report HTC is looking to produce its own processors for future devices.
According to the China Times, HTC is developing a dedicated application processor that will be used in its low end smartphones, and it is expected to start using these processors next year.
HTC are obviously looking to follow both Samsung and Apple who have developed their own processors for their smartphones, HTC uses Qualcomm and NVIDIA for the processors in its smartphones at the moment.
HTC is expected to continue to use both companies for its higher end devices, and its own processor for its lower end devices some time next year, we presume the company will also be developing their own processors for its higher end devices in the future.
