It’s been a while since Google released the latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system alongside the new Google Nexus 5. The software is already available on a bunch of devices, including the Nexus family, Google Play Edition, Moto X and a few more.
Now, it seems several HTC devices, including HTC One, One dual-SIM, One max andOne mini will get 4.4.2 update by January-February time frame, according to popular HTC ROM Developer LlabTooFer who has a pretty decent track record when it comes to HTC-related leaks.
At the time of launch, HTC did mention that HTC One will get the sweet taste of Android 4.4 KitKat by January, and even detailed how the entire software update process works for unlocked, developer edition and carrier-locked handsets. HTC did a pretty good job with the Android 4.3 updates for the HTC One, although it was not quite near to Motorola who released the latest KitKat update for both handsets, the Moto X and the Moto G, along with the Droid line up as well.
Well, if HTC manages to release the Android 4.4 KitKat update for its new devices, there’s a chance it can have a positive effect on its users, since it’s struggling to make an impact in the competitive smartphone market.
We’ll update you as soon as it starts rolling out, or if there’s any official update from the company about the roll out.
