HTC is struggling in the competitive smartphone market, and didn’t do too well with the HTC One M9 which launched earlier this year.
In another attempt to make sure its products and services are good enough, the company has introduced the HTC Preview Program where selected users can get a chance to test unreleased devices and services to iron out bugs and problems before they hit the market.
The company held an AMA on Reddit to talk about the new program. It’s worth mentioning that there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to get unreleased software or products as you sign up for the program, it’s the decision of the company.
The registration process is simple and takes a few minutes to complete. The company asks about some questions like the device you’re currently using, and what do you use it mostly for. If you’re using an HTC handset, the company will ask you for your IMEI and carrier.
The Preview program is available in the US, Europe, and Asia. For US, the user has to be on one of the four major carriers in the country. There should be some rules and regulations for other regions, but since the AMA was organized by the US team, the details about other regions are scarce.
