HTC Desire owners will be pleased to know that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the Desire is getting closer to release, as HTC has announced on their Facebook page that they have started ‘quality assurance testing’ on the update.
This means that HTC are getting closer to releasing the update, although we dont’ as yet know exactly when the update will be available, lets hope Desire owners don’t have to wait too much longer.

HTC had originally said that the Desire would not get Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but after many Desire owners complained they changed their mind and said that they would release Gingerbread for the desire with some of their Sense features removed in order to make sure it would run smoothly on the handset.
