The HTC Desire 601 was made official recently, and now it would appear that the handset may be headed to US mobile carrier Sprint, as the device has appeared at the FCC with Sprint compatible bands.
As a reminder, the Desire 601 comes with a 4.5 inch qHD display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, plus a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.4GHz. It also features 1GB of RAM, which ensures smooth multitasking and performance for everyday tasks.
Storage and Expandability
Other specifications on the handset include 8GB of built-in storage, which provides ample space for apps, photos, and media. However, for users who need more storage, the Desire 601 features a microSD card slot that can take up to 64GB cards. This expandability is particularly useful for those who like to store a lot of music, videos, or large applications on their device.
Camera and Connectivity
The HTC Desire 601 comes equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera that is capable of capturing decent photos and videos. This camera is suitable for everyday photography needs, such as taking pictures of friends, family, and events. Additionally, the device has a VGA front-facing camera, which is ideal for video calls and selfies, although it may not provide the highest quality images compared to more modern front-facing cameras.
In terms of connectivity, the Desire 601 includes Bluetooth 4.0, which allows for fast and efficient wireless connections to other devices such as headphones, speakers, and smartwatches. The handset also supports WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of wireless networks. DLNA support is included as well, enabling users to stream media to other DLNA-compatible devices, such as smart TVs and home theater systems.
The device runs on HTC Sense, which is HTC’s custom user interface layered on top of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. HTC Sense offers a range of additional features and enhancements, such as BlinkFeed, which aggregates news and social media updates into a single, easily accessible feed on the home screen. This makes it easier for users to stay up-to-date with the latest information without having to open multiple apps.
As yet, we do not have any details on when the HTC Desire 601 will be available with Sprint. However, the appearance of the device at the FCC with Sprint-compatible bands suggests that a release may be imminent. Sprint customers looking for a mid-range smartphone with solid performance and a range of useful features may find the Desire 601 to be an attractive option.
The HTC Desire 601 offers a well-rounded package with its 4.5-inch display, capable processor, expandable storage, and decent camera capabilities. Its connectivity options and HTC Sense enhancements further add to its appeal. As soon as we get more information on the availability of the HTC Desire 601 with Sprint, we will let you guys know.
