That most wondrous time for parents will be here before you know it — back to school. HP is getting ready for the back to school season with a new netbook that is aimed at school kids. The new machine is called the Mini 100e Education Edition.
The little netbook has a 10.1-inch screen and weighs 3.19 pounds. The display is LED backlit and has a WSVGA display and the keyboard is 92% full size. The little rig will be offered with Windows 7 Starter, XP Home, and SuSE Linux OS’.
Other features will include optional WiFi, a spill resistant keyboard, Intel Atom N455 CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a three or six-cell battery. The netbook will also ship with Office 2010, Microsoft Math, and Microsoft Security Essentials. HP says the price will be about $300 per unit and they will ship in July.
