Hive known for its smart heating products has this week launched a new Hive View Security Camera created in collaboration with designer Yves Behar who also helped develop the Hive Active Heating 2 thermostat. The new security camera is available in a variety of finishes including white with champagne gold highlights and black with brushed copper highlights.
Internally the camera is equipped with a 130-degree wide angle lens that is capable of live streaming footage at 1080p directly to your smartphone using the Hive companion application, Which supports devices running either iOS 9 or Android 4.4 or higher. Thanks to its infrared technology users can keep an eye on their properties during both the day and night.
Features of the Hive View Security Camera include the ability to playback videos from the last 24 hours, as well as set Hive View to only detect people, and ignore pets as well as offering the ability to monitor only when you want, providing features to switch on or schedule privacy mode from the Hive application.
If required the main camera cube can be removed from it stand and is equipped with a built-in battery that is capable of providing up to 1 hour of functionality while away from its charging stand. Allowing you to position the camera quickly in other rooms or positions when required. A 30-day camera history is also available for a subscription fee of £5 per month.
