Hasselblad has today announced the launch of a new digital camera to their range in the form of the new Hasselblad HV which is now available to purchase for $11,500 or €8,500.
The Hasselblad HV has been designed for amateur photo-enthusiasts who demand the ultimate in both style and performance, say Hasselblad, and is equipped with a 24.3 megapixel full frame sensor together with a Carl Zeiss 24 – 70mm lens.
The Hasselblad HV is also capable of 35mm full frame high-definition filming, which has been enhanced to provide quality recording even in lowlight conditions. Hasselblad CEO Ian Rawcliffe explains:
“The new HV is the latest model in our rapidly expanding portfolio of consumer cameras that seamlessly blend beauty and chic with performance. This camera is aimed squarely at people who don’t just love taking pictures – but love taking them in real style. And the HV doesn’t just look good; it feels good to hold too. We maintained a sharp focus on ergonomics and we used only premium materials like titanium, high-grade aluminium and latest ‘tough as nails’ PVD coatings.”
The design of the new Hasselblad HV have been created to provide it with a rugged high performance ‘super resin’ case, that has made it capable of withstanding temperatures as low as -40°C and as high as 80°C.
