Apple recently released their new iOS 11.1 software and we heard previously that the software was expected to bring some battery life improvements to the iPhone and now we have a video which tests the software out. In the video we get to see the iPhone 5S, the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 7 put through some battery tests.
As well as looking at the battery performance in the latest iOS 11.1 release, the performance of previous versions of the software is also compared. We get to see how iOS 10.3.3, iOS 11.01, iOS 11.0.2 and iOS 11.1 beta 2 perform next to the current release.
Surprisingly there do not appear to be any major gains in battery life performance from the tests run in the video. The chart below compared the different versions of iOS and how they performed in the battery life tests.
Apple recently released their first beta of iOS 11.2, this software will bring some new features to the iPhone and iPad, plus some performance improvements, it is not clear as yet on whether it will bring any battery life improvements.
