At this year’s Game Awards 2016 Microsoft has taken the opportunity to announce the launch date for its new Halo Wars: Definitive Edition as well as release a new Halo Wars 2 trailer to whet your appetite ahead of its release on February 21st, 2017.
Halo Wars 2 is an upcoming real-time strategy (RTS) game which has been developed by 343 Industries and Creative Assembly and will be available to play on Xbox One and PC systems. Microsoft and 343 Industries also announced that the Halo Wars: Definitive Edition will be available to anyone who preorders the digital version of Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition, begins rolling out to Xbox One and Windows 10 PC on December 20th 2016. Check out the latest trailer below to learn more.
Major Nelson explains how you can secure your copy of Halo Wars: Definitive Edition on Dec. 20:
– Pre-order the digital version of Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition, which includes the standard game, Season Pass, four-day early access to Halo Wars 2 and Halo Wars: Definitive Edition.
– Once you pre-order the digital version of Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition, expect to receive a 5×5 code in your Xbox message center for Halo Wars: Definitive Edition starting on Dec. 20. Codes will be sent out in waves and it may take up to 7-10 days to receive your code after Dec. 20.
– If you pre-ordered the digital version of Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition from a participating retailer, redeem that code from your Xbox account and your Halo Wars: Definitive Edition code will be sent to that account. Similarly, it may take up to 7-10 days to receive your code after Dec. 20.
There are 2 versions of Halo Wars 2 available for pre-order – Halo Wars 2 and Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition.
