Google has unveiled a new service which allows you to convert Flash SWF files into HTML5 enabling you to reuse Flash content on devices that may not fully support Flash play back.
The new Google service called Swiffy, has been designed and developed by Google engineer Pieter Senster to convert Flash to HTML5 while he was working at Google’s mobile advertising team, researching ways to display Flash animations on devices that didn’t support Flash.
You can view a few examples of how the new Google Swiffy application transforms Flash in to HTML5 over on the Google Labs website and also convert your own flash files with Swiffy here.
Swiffy currently supports a subset of SWF 8 and ActionScript 2.0, and the output works in all Webkit browsers such as Chrome and Mobile Safari. If possible, exporting your Flash animation as a SWF 5 file might give better results.
