Google’s Android mobile OS is becoming increasingly more popular, and now according to recent research conducted my Nielsen, Google’s Android OS is dominating new smartphone purchases.
The survey was conducted in August and it revealed that on average around 43 percent of smartphone owners have an Android device, and it also looked at people who has purchased a new smartphone over the last 3 months.
According to the report, 56 percent of all new smartphone purchases for that period were for Google Android devices, next up was Apple’s iPhone with a 28 percent share followed by 9 percent for RIM’s BlackBerry and 6 percent for other devices.
