After dropping its price to try and kindle interest in the Google Nexus Player, Alphabet has now taken the decision to stop selling the Android TV box all together, approximately one half years since it first launched.
The company has also not announced any new hardware to take its place, so it looks like the Nexus Player Android TV box life-cycle is coming to an end, although Google has not completely given up on the Android TV space.
More recently Google announced new hardware for Android TV which was being created by companies such as Xiaomi, Sony, Sharp, and RCA and is now set to only sell its smaller Chromecast streaming device priced at $35 as well as offering the NVIDIA Shield Android TV box priced from a higher $200.
