Google has scheduled a hardware-focused event which is set to take place in less than 24 hours where the company is expected to launch the all-new Google Pixel 2 and the Google Home Mini speaker.
Recently, another image was inadvertently leaked through a Walmart listing where the company posted an image of the Google Home Mini speaker alongside the Google Pixel 2 XL.
The listing was taken down very quickly after it was spotted, but people had read and saved all the major details about the Google Home Mini as well as the Pixel XL 2. As per the report, Google Home Mini will measure 4.53 x 4.53 x 4.72 inches and weighs 1.05 pounds.
The speaker is expected to cost $49 with the pre-orders expected to start shipping from October 19th. Along with the mini speaker, the images reveal the Pixel XL 2 as well featuring a USB Type-C port on the bottom, rounded white back/sides, and a SIM tray on the side of the device.
Google Pixel 2 XL: What to Expect
The Google Pixel 2 XL is anticipated to be a significant upgrade over its predecessor. The device is rumored to feature a 6-inch P-OLED display with a resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels, offering vibrant colors and deep blacks. The Pixel 2 XL is also expected to come with the latest Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, and storage options of 64GB and 128GB.
One of the standout features of the Pixel series has always been its camera, and the Pixel 2 XL is no exception. It is expected to feature a 12.2 MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization, and dual-pixel phase detection autofocus. The front camera is rumored to be 8 MP, perfect for selfies and video calls.
Google Home Mini: A Compact Smart Speaker
The Google Home Mini is designed to be a more affordable and compact version of the original Google Home. Despite its smaller size, it is expected to offer the same functionality, including voice commands, smart home control, and integration with Google Assistant. The device will likely come in three colors: Chalk, Charcoal, and Coral, allowing users to choose one that best fits their home decor.
The Google Home Mini aims to compete directly with Amazon’s Echo Dot, offering similar features at a comparable price point. Users can expect to use the Mini for tasks such as setting reminders, playing music, checking the weather, and controlling smart home devices like lights and thermostats.
In addition to these features, the Google Home Mini is expected to support multi-room audio, allowing users to sync multiple Google Home devices to play music throughout their home. This feature makes it an attractive option for those looking to create a seamless audio experience in their living space.
We’ll update you as soon as the new Google devices are officially revealed.
