We have been hearing rumors about the new Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones over the last few weeks, the handsets are now official and we have all the details on these new Android devices.
First up is the Google Pixel, this device comes with a 5 inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and it features 2770 mAh battery.
The Pixel XL is equipped with a 5.5 inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and the device comes with a 3450 mAh battery.
Both handsets are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and come with 4GB of RAM, you have a choice of 32GB or 128GB of non expandable storage, it does make us wonder why Google did not include a microSD card slot.
The device comes with high end cameras on the front and back, up front we have an 8 megapixel camera with a f/2.4 aperture and on the back we have a 12.3 megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
Both devices come with USB Type-C and as Google points out in their video with a small dig at Apple, a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Google Pixel and Pixel XL come with a fast charge feature that will give you up to seven hours of usage on a 15 minute charge. The devices also come with Google’s new voice activated Google Assistant.
The new Pixel phones will be available in three colors, black, silver and blue and Google are now taking pre-orders on the handsets, the blue color is apparently exclusive to Verizon.
The Pixel starts at $649 for the 32GB model and $749 for the 128GB model, the Pixel XL starts at $769 for the 32GB model and $869 for the 128GB model.
