Google Maps has been on Apple’s iOS ever since the first iPhone was launched back in 2007, Google Maps was removed from iOS this year with the launch of iOS 6, it was replaced with Apple’s own mapping application.
Apple Maps on iOS has comer under quite a bit of criticism, and many people have been waiting for Google to release a stand alone Google Maps app for iOS.
Google has been working on their stand alone Google Maps app for iOS, and now according to a recent report by the WSJ, Google is getting closer to submitting the app to Apple for approval, whether or not Apple will approve the app is another matter.
According to the report, Google has started testing their new Maps app for iOS with individuals outside of Google, and the app is apparently in the final stages and almost ready to submit to Apple.
As soon as we get some more information on when the Google Maps app for iOS will land on the iPhone and iPad we will let you guys know.
