Anyone looking for a portable virtual reality headset that is capable of being transported in your pocket might be interested in a new piece of hardware created called Goblin VR.
Goblin VR takes the form of a foldable pocket VR headset that is not only affordable but provides a high quality smartphone powered virtual reality viewer that can always be available wherever you may be.
The development team behind the Goblin VR pocket headset have taken to Kickstarter to raise the £37,000 required to take the concept into protection and explain more about this fully immersive pocket sized VR viewer.
The Goblin, by Goblin VR, is a groundbreaking, smartphone-powered virtual reality headset that fits in your pocket. It’s a reinvention of Google Cardboard – based on that platform but vastly improved. A sleeker, more comfortable VR experience built around portability, immersion and fun.
Our goal is to create a truly immersive virtual reality world that’s affordable and accessible to everyone. To transport you, and everyone else, to the world of your dreams – allowing you to climb Everest or visit North Korea, regardless of where your actual day or night takes you.
The feature that makes The Goblin so special is our unique, patent-pending Pop-Out Black-Out (POBO) system. We believe the technology will become the standard for mid-market VR headsets but, for now, the combination of pocket-sized and full-immersion is available only in The Goblin.
POBO houses the lenses and allows the headset to fold flat. Easy-release hinges attached to the doors and main body hold the mask in place. The mask is made of soft, malleable neoprene that fits comfortably around the contours of your face. With the snugness of the fit and density of the neoprene blocking out all light. There is an easy-to-attach strap, offering hands-free enjoyment.
The Goblin VR project is currently over on the Kickstarter so if you think Goblin VR is something your VR viewing could benefit from, visit the Kickstarter website now to make a pledge from £30 and help Goblin become a reality over the next 26 days.
