Yesterday we heard about a new Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus smartphone, which we thought would be a new device in best years Galaxy A range. It looks like Samsung is changing the name of its handsets, the Galaxy A5 will launch as the Galaxy A8 and the Galaxy A7 will launch as the Galaxy A8 Plus.
The news of these new names was confirmed by the Bluetooth Sig, the model number for the two handsets are the same model numbers that we heard about previously for the A5 and A7.
Unifying the Galaxy Series
Samsung is apparently unifying its model names and bringing the A series in line with their S series. This strategic move is likely aimed at simplifying their product lineup, making it easier for consumers to understand the hierarchy and features of each device.
