When tackling fires and emergencies in office and apartment blocks and sometimes difficult for the emergency services to know exactly where the emergency that needs to be dealt with is located.
VennTec based in Germany is hoping to correct this and has created an explosion proof marker light that can be attached to almost any surface in seconds and provides a notification of exactly where the emergency is located.
Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the G.i.L (Go in Light) which has taken to Kickstarter this week to raise the funds it requires to go into production.
G.i.L. is the first explosion-proof marker light that can be attached to various grounds with the help of a carrier plate and can be removed without leaving any residues. From the outside, G.i.L. consists of a cylindrical, transparent plastic housing, framed by a protective cover made of a mass that contains silicone and impedes attenuation. On the inside there is a board to which 8 LEDs are attached at the front and 16 LEDs in the scope. A numeric display, battery level indicator, and the high-performance batteries are also located on the board. A service life of approximately 60 hours in continuous operation is guaranteed.
G.i.L is classified under category III of equipment group II of explosion-proof electrical devices and hence, it can be used in explosion protection zones 2 and 22. G.i.L serves as a marking of deployment sites of the fire department, police, Technical Relief Service, and other aid organizations. The customer benefit consists therein that G.i.L. makes it apparent for every emergency personnel where the entrance to the deployment site is located. The lamp is attached at eye level at the designated spots or entrance doors by means of an adhesive technology. This way, succeeding emergency personnel do not have to search for the site of deployment anymore and are prevented from entering the wrong building or wrong parts of the building. Through G.i.L. they will reach the damaging event faster and thereby be able to save vital time.
