ASUS has unveiled a new fitness smartwatch at IFA 2019 in Berlin this week in the form of the ASUS VivoWatch SP witches capable of monitoring blood pressure and is equipped with an ECG and rear optical heart-rate sensor (PPG) that can check pulse oxygen levels.
Fitted with a rechargeable battery capable of providing up to 2 weeks of life on a single charge due to a low power system-on-chip and a reflective display. The new fitness smartwatch is also water resistant to 5ATM and is equipped with GPS and altimeter. The 14 days battery rating includes five or six ECG tests per day, plus a day of GPS usage from a full charge.
Rather than offering a more healthcare focused smartwatch as with the ASUS BP the new SP is more sports and fitness orientated and come supplied with pace tracking software for runs and PulseOx data during exercise.
Unfortunately, no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet by ASUS for the ASUS VivoWatch SP smartwatch, but as soon as information comes to light, we will keep you updated as always.
