We have already seen a teardown video for the new iPhone XR, plus a drop test and torture test video for the handset and now we have an unboxing video.
The iPhone XR is available in a choice of six different colors, these include black, blue, white, red, yellow and coral and we get to see all of these color options unboxed in the video below.
Display and Performance
The handset comes with a 6.1 inch Liquid Retina display that features a resolution of 1792 x 828 pixels and has 326 pixels per inch. This display is designed to offer a high-quality visual experience with accurate color reproduction and wide color support. The Liquid Retina display is an LCD, which is different from the OLED displays found in the iPhone XS and XS Max, but it still provides excellent clarity and brightness.
The device is powered by the new Apple A12 Bionic processor, which is a significant upgrade over the previous generation. The A12 Bionic chip features a 6-core CPU, a 4-core GPU, and an 8-core Neural Engine, making it one of the most powerful processors available in a smartphone. This ensures that the iPhone XR can handle demanding tasks such as gaming, augmented reality applications, and multitasking with ease.
Camera Capabilities
On the front of the device, there is Apple’s 7 megapixel True Depth camera, which is used for Face ID, selfies, and Animoji. The True Depth camera system is capable of capturing high-quality images and videos, and it also supports features like Portrait Mode and Portrait Lighting, which allow users to take professional-looking photos with blurred backgrounds and studio-quality lighting effects.
On the back, there is a 12 megapixel wide-angle camera. This camera is similar to the one found in the iPhone XS, and it includes features such as optical image stabilization, Smart HDR, and 4K video recording at up to 60 frames per second. The camera also supports Portrait Mode with advanced bokeh and Depth Control, allowing users to adjust the depth of field after taking a photo.
Storage Options and Battery Life
The iPhone XR comes with a choice of storage options that include 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. This range of options ensures that users can select the right amount of storage for their needs, whether they require a lot of space for apps, photos, and videos, or just a moderate amount for everyday use.
One of the standout features of the iPhone XR is its impressive battery life. Thanks to the efficiency of the A12 Bionic chip and the optimization of iOS, the iPhone XR offers longer battery life compared to previous models. Apple claims that the iPhone XR can last up to 1.5 hours longer than the iPhone 8 Plus, providing all-day battery life for most users.
Additional Features
The iPhone XR also includes several other notable features. It is water and dust resistant with an IP67 rating, meaning it can withstand being submerged in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. The device also supports wireless charging and is compatible with Qi-certified chargers.
In terms of connectivity, the iPhone XR includes support for Gigabit-class LTE, which provides faster download speeds and improved network performance. It also features Dual SIM support with eSIM, allowing users to have two phone numbers on a single device, which is particularly useful for travelers and business users.
Overall, the iPhone XR offers a compelling combination of performance, camera capabilities, and battery life, making it an excellent choice for a wide range of users.
