Elgato has unveiled new versions of its Elgato EyeTV dongle at the IFA consumer electronics trade show in Berlin today, in the form of the Elgato EyeTV Mobile and Micro dongles.
Elgato has redesigned their iOS version and launched a new version for Android smartphones and tablets, rebuilding their device to be smaller and more compact than previous versions.
The EyeTV Micro dongel has now been created for Android devices and DVB-T reception to devices once its fitted, and can be connected to a PC via the included USB cable if desired. The EyeTV Micro ships with serval different aerial options and is supported by Android devices running Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system.
The new EyeTV Mobile for iOS devices is half the size of any other tuner that fits into iOS devices 30 pin connector, say Elgato, and currently supports Apple’s new iPad, iPad 2, and iPhone 4S.
Watch the video below showing the older devices in action, but still provides you with a good view of all the functions that the Elgato EyeTV dongle can provide. Just remember that the new EyeTV dongles are now more compact. The new Elgato EyeTV Mobile and Micro will be arriving in stores next month and will be priced at £89.95 and £54.95 respectively.
