This week ECS has unveiled a new addition to their range of mini PC systems with the introduction of the LIVA Z Plus ZE mini-PC which features legacy connectivity combined with modern hardware allowing older applications to enjoy a refresh together with more processing power. Designed for applications such as retail, point of sale and educational or robotics the new ECS mini PC is equipped with 4 x RS232 serial COM ports. Processor options include Intel 7th generation “Kaby Lake” SoC options, including Celeron 3965U, Core i3-7100U, Core i5-7200U, and i5-7500U enhanced by Intel vPro.
Other features of the LIVA Z Plus ZE mini-PC include 2 x DDR4 SO-DIMM slots but are capable of supporting up to 32 GB of dual-channel memory. Together with storage options via a M.2-2242 slot with both PCI-Express 3.0 x4 and SATA 6 Gbps wiring. In addition to the 4 x RS232 serial COM ports mini PC also features 4 x USB 3.0 ports (three type-A, one type-C) and 1 x GbE wired network interface. Wireless connectivity is provided via support for both Bluetooth 4.0 WLAN and 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
ECS is also included stereo HD audio, and display outputs that include one each of HDMI 1.4 and miniDisplayPort. The mini PC measures 117 mm x 128 mm x 51 mm and as you would expect supports VESA mounting.
