One of the most successful sports games that EA offers is the soccer game called FIFA. The last game in the franchise was FIFA 14 and it sold in huge numbers. EA Sports has announced that it has extended the licensing agreement to keep the title through 2022.
The new agreement will expire on December 31, 2022 and ensures the EA Sports will maintain the exclusive rights to launch FIFA branded video games. EA Sports also maintains its status as Presenting Partner of the FIFA Interactive World Cup.
“EA SPORTS released the first FIFA-branded soccer game in 1993, and 20 years later our partnership with FIFA continues to be very strong,” said Andrew Wilson, Executive Vice President and Head of EA SPORTS. “Our franchise has become the benchmark for quality and innovation in the sports videogame genre, and we look forward to many more years of connecting with consumers around the world with our games carrying the prestigious FIFA name.”Filed Under: Gaming News
