Climbers that are looking for a handy and portable climbing trainer that can be taken almost anywhere, may be interested in the uniquely named Duck Rings.
The ducklings have been created by tindeq based in Trondheim, Norway and take the form of a set of training grips that have been specifically designed for climbers and have been inspired by traditional gymnastic rings.
The climbing trainer has been designed to provide a compact and lightweight way to provide rock and alpine climbing specific training whilst away from rock faces or training centres. Watch the video below to learn more about the unique design and inspiration.
Features of Duck Rings include :
– Portable: With the functionality of a hang-board and the size of a gym ring, Duck Rings™ weigh only 300 grams (10 oz) for a pair. Use them as a warm-up tool on the crag, or bring them when travelling.
– Versatile: Duck Rings™ are designed with a variety of grip choices allowing you to train almost any grip position you would use when climbing on real rock.
– Natural: Every pair of Duck Rings™ is made out of high quality plywood and which gives a unique natural wood look. The wood will even absorb moisture from the hands while exercising eliminating the use of climbing chalk.
– Stable: The grips are designed to be self stabilizing. This means the more load you apply, the more stable it gets.
Duck Rings carefully designed geometry makes it self stabilizing in any position. You will experience that the grip will be more stable the harder you load it. This even allows you to crimp on the very edge of the flat grip. The ice tool grips are set up to the geometry of a modern leashless ice tool. By retying and adjusting the loop position, the angle of the grip can be adapted to your personal preference.
