Makers and electronic enthusiasts looking for a new project to keep them busy, which could also save hard earned cash by helping to generate power for their homes. May be interested in a new 12v DIY wind turbine generator created by Thingiverse member and maker Nikola based in Sweden.
According to its creator the wind turbine generator should be able to produce around 12 V 1amp in full wind using the Nema17 with 1:5rpm gearbox. Although if Nikola was to purchase the. Nema17 again he would opt for the 1:3.7 version as it would require much less wind.
“Small DC wind generator which i designed myself, for producing electric power for charging phones, radios, LED light etc. It’s designed to be rugged, weatherproof, cheap and reliable. With this design i hope to contribute countries and communities which doesn’t have basic electricity to light their homes.”
