The Dead Space 2 multiplayer experience is currently playing through on beta at the moment. But if you’re not one of the lucky few that have been given access, EA has released a couple of new movies to keep you going until its public release in early 2011.
Check out the Dead Space 2 multiplayer gameplay after the jump, with a run-through from the game’s Art Director.

The top trailer below has been around a while, but I thought I would drop it in. After viewing the videos, I can’t wait for its release in early 2011.
The video below gives you a little more insight into the Dead Space hero Isaac.
Multiplayer Gameplay Insights
The multiplayer mode in Dead Space 2 introduces a new dynamic to the franchise, allowing players to experience the horror and action from both the human and Necromorph perspectives. The gameplay is designed to be intense and strategic, with humans working together to complete objectives while Necromorphs aim to stop them. This asymmetrical multiplayer mode adds a layer of depth and replayability to the game, making it a must-try for fans of the series.
One of the standout features of the multiplayer mode is the variety of Necromorphs players can control. Each type has unique abilities and playstyles, requiring players to adapt their strategies based on the situation. For example, the Pack is fast and agile, perfect for quick attacks, while the Spitter can deal damage from a distance. This variety ensures that no two matches are the same, keeping the gameplay fresh and exciting.
Isaac’s Journey Continues
In addition to the multiplayer mode, Dead Space 2 continues the story of Isaac Clarke, the protagonist from the first game. Set three years after the events of the original Dead Space, Isaac finds himself on the Sprawl, a massive space station orbiting Saturn. Haunted by visions of his dead girlfriend and suffering from a mysterious illness, Isaac must navigate the horrors of the Necromorph outbreak once again.
The game’s narrative delves deeper into Isaac’s psyche, exploring his mental state and the impact of his traumatic experiences. This psychological aspect adds a new layer of horror to the game, making it more than just a typical survival horror experience. Players will find themselves questioning what is real and what is a product of Isaac’s deteriorating mind, adding to the overall tension and fear.
Dead Space 2 also introduces new weapons and tools for Isaac to use in his fight against the Necromorphs. The iconic Plasma Cutter returns, along with new additions like the Javelin Gun and the Seeker Rifle. These new weapons provide players with more options for dealing with the various threats they will encounter, allowing for more strategic gameplay.
Overall, Dead Space 2 promises to be a thrilling and terrifying experience for both new players and fans of the original game. With its intense multiplayer mode and gripping single-player campaign, it is shaping up to be one of the standout titles of early 2011.
