DayZ the awesome ArmA II Zombie Survival mod which was launched earlier this year, and has now passed the one million player mark, is now set to become a standalone game.
DayZ creator and master modder Dean “Rocket” Hall will now help Bohemia Interactive, ArmA II developer and currently Hall’s employer, transform the DayZ mod into a full fledged game.
But don’t worry if you are already playing as Hall explained on his Tumblr site : “Development and updates of the mod will continue in parallel with the development of the game, so anyone who is playing the mod now will be able to continue to do so.”
If you haven’t already enjoyed the DayZ mod here is a little synopsis to whet your appetite.
“Welcome to Chernarus. A 225 km2 open world post-soviet state and one of the areas hit by a new and presently unknown infection which has wiped out most of the world’s population. You are one of the few who have survived and now you must search this new wasteland in order to fight for your life against what is left of the indigenous population, now infected with the disease.
Go Solo, team up with friends or take on the world as you choose your path in this brutal and chilling landscape using whatever means you stumble upon to survive.”
As more information is released about the new DayZ standalone game being launched by Bohemia Interactive, we will keep you updated as always.
