A critical security flaw has been discovered in the VLC MedianPlayer, the flaw was discovered by the German security agency CERT-Bund.
This new security flaw is listed as CVE-2019-13615, the flaw could allow remote code execution (RCE), this could allow for attackers to modify, install or run software without authorization.
It could also be used to give hackers access to files on your system, this could have the potential to let hackers gain access to your whole system.
VLC are working on a patch at the moment and hopefully they will have the issue resolved ASAP, if you are using it on your computer then it may be worth you removing it until the issue is resolved.
