Proto-Lux has created a new tiny CMOS/TTL to RS232 converter which it has named the Cricket 232 and describes the new piece of hardware as the world’s best RS-232 launchpad.
Watch the video below to learn more about this tiny device and its ability to accelerate your electronic prototypes and make communication easier when building your ideas and projects.
The development team at Proto-Lux explain a little more about their new hardware and its features.
Cricket-232 is a tiny TTL/CMOS to RS-232 converter designed to be the perfect plug and play component for all your prototypes that require easy, low cost, point-to-point serial communication. It is the simplest way to connect anything with a UART/USART – including RaspberryPi and Arduino boards. Cricket is designed to plug into breadboards but is also perfect as a stand-alone PCB component, saving you time without compromising on board space or signal quality.
-
Designed to work perfectly for breadboarding and as a PCB component.
-
Superior signal strength RS-232 with a single IC charge pump.
-
Transmits at 9V typical.
-
Accepts single supply 3-5.5volts input.
-
Can be placed over other components to save board space (1.3mm bottom clearance).
-
Requires no external components.
-
Confusion free labeling.
-
Data indication LEDs.
-
10 x 9.3mm Footprint.
