Covi By Senic is a stylish smart home hub that is being launched on Kickstarter and the device is built on an open source platform and it will come with Amazon’s Alexa built in.
The Covi is being funded through Kickstarter and the early bird of the device is available for €99 of £87, the device is also designed to be used as a light.
COVI is a speech-enabled designer light and open-source hub that supports speech services like Amazon Alexa. COVI can connect smart home devices to enable home automation with an awareness of your activities. Unlike many larger companies who build closed automation platforms, COVI is built on an open source platform called Home Assistant that includes 500+ contributors. This allows COVI to be integrated into any ecosystem or platform with an open API.
“Building on an open source platform was important to Senic because it means we will inevitably build better software as a result of the community. We believe the only way to build great smart home experiences and see greater adoption of these technologies is to have smart home be built open.” – Tobias Eichenwald (Co-Founder and CEO).
