Following on from the successful Kickstarter campaign launched by French design company Cosmo to create the Cosmo Connect smart brake light for motorcyclists. Cosmo has this month unveiled its new smart brake light designed for cyclists and skateboarders. Using the same technology as in the original brake light the Cosmo Bike light fit securely to the rear of your cycling helmet and is even capable of automatically notifying friends and family if you have an accident while out and about.
Cosmo Connected is a start-up specialising in IoT for the “physical security of people on the move”. The Cosmo Connected motorbike helmet accessory is the first removable helmet brake light and comes complete with a companion application designed for both iOS and Android devices. The motorcycle helmet provides a next level of visual safety as well as the ability to call emergency services in the same way as the Cosmo Bike providing GPS coordinates of your location in the event of an accident.
The Cosmo Bike smart light will be officially launching later this year during the fall 2018, priced at €60 or $60 depending on your location. Cosmo also offers a remote control but the company did not provide any details on how much the remote system would cost. Cosmo also offer an option of subscribing to a service that will automatically notify the emergency services if anything untoward should happen to you while out cycling or skating.
